Skinnier than that MacBook Air?

Dell Adamo is now out and for sale. At merely .65-inch the Adamo is arguably the thinnest laptop on the market.

13.4 inch screen - glass to glass - which may cause glare but it sure makes it ultra pretty. 2 options - Onyx or Pearl. Obviously a luxury product. 1.4/1.2 GHz Core 2 Duo w/ Centrino. 4/2 GB DDR3, Wireless (N), and Bluetooth capable.

At either $1,999 or $2,699 it's still a bit too pricey for the specs provided. With hope this prices will fall quickly.

OS 3.0: Out this Summer

Yay! Apple annouced that a new operating system update will be available for dl this summer. For iPhone users this update will be free and for iPod Touch users there will be a charge of $9.95. There are over 100 new features that will be added to the new OS so I will only briefly go over the biggies:

1. Cut/Copy/Paste - This will save so much time. Finally the feature is coming out. If you make a mistake in pasting all you have to do is jiggle the device and the option to undo will appear. How cool is that?

2. MMS - This is one of the abilities that no one understood from the get go why it was unavailable to iPhone users.

3. Landscape view - Some people still have issues typing on the iPhone/iPod Touch - now in all applications you will have the option to type in the landscape view - those with large fingers rejoice!

4. P2P Networking - Game with others!

5. Search - now not unlike Desktop Search you are able to type in a keyword and it will search the entire device

Todd's Request: Death to Satellite Radio!

2 Companies - Sirius and XM

Now why in the world would anybody pay a subscription to this service? Approximately $130 a year and that's only if you pre-pay - if not, it's $12.95/month. Even if that doesn't sound like much to you, with all the available free options that exist, what is the pupose of throwing away your money? Plus - you have to buy a seperate equipment that would broadcast just for satellite - such silliness.

Congrats to Mr. Howard Stern for his impeccable timing. With hope, even if Sirius collapses his contract will get paid out if it hasn't been already.

Top reasons not to purchase Satellite Radio (not necessarily in this order):

1. HD Radio
2. Podcasting
3. I <3 Radio for iPhone/iPod Touch
4. Pandora Radio (Internet Streaming) - Also an application on iPhones/iPod Touch(s)
5. Best DJs are still on FM channels
6. mP3 players
7. cell phones with mp3 capabilities

A $99 iPhone? It could be coming this summer

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29122164/

I'm not sure that this is the smartest marketing plan - they need Steve Jobs back. It'll essentially lower the price of all Apple products. I don't think the growth of sales of the "knock off" iPhone is going to justify the net loss. This ploy, if successful, will probably only help AT&T and iPod complement goods. The article states a real concern - the exclusivity is a huge draw to the iPhone. The base of Apple consumers want the best - not the one that is going to limit them.
Apparently they are no longer targeting the average Apple consumer - expanding to the masses. This is a huge risk but if any company has the potential of taking a risk and coming out ahead, it's Apple. I have to admit the idea that they are coming out with 2 different versions is pretty sneaky. I would say that if they were only coming out with the 99$ one, that would alienate the loyal Apple consumer. However, coming out with 2 different ones, in this economy, they might just have all the factors necessary.... sneakilicious.

Google Android

I've never been one for patience - it's pretty terrible I know. I seek immediate satisfaction and therefore I get bored easily. I suppose that's why I fancy technology so much. Yes, I did just say 'fancy'...no, no I am not of European descent. As soon as I get bored with one product another pops up within what seems like moments.

Google Android - Huge fan. What is most impressive about the company is that they don't waste time. Constantly striving forward. Such innovation and so much potential!

Anyhow I don't have anything specific to say about this other than the fact that I hope that the Samsung Omnia (which is yet to be available in the United States) will merge with the Andriod andhave 3G network capabilities. That would make me settle down for at least 6 months up to a year.

Kindle 2 Press Conference on Monday February 9, 09'!

Kindle 2 pics have been leaked since last year and it was assumed that by the holiday season consumers would've been able to pick one up - however this was not the case. What's funny is that Amazon has been by promoting the original Kindle on their website for what seems like forever though you can't actually get one - they've been in the "sold out" status for months now. With hope the backorders are merely because they stopped production so that consumers may upgrade to the Kindle 2 soon.
